Alright, time for another update on the GM Sniper II.
The photos are coming along well enough. For the GM Sniper I have 25 shots, and for the Master Grade EZ-8 I have almost 40. In the past this would have been more than enough, but I want more. I really want to challenge myself to develop the patience and the eye needed to not only come up with cool poses, but also interesting framings of those poses.
I’m not sure when I’ll be done, but when I am I may end up splitting the photos across multiple posts.
Update on the Holding Hands
I have a positive update on the GM Sniper’s holding hands. I think I’ve managed to finally deal with them (though watch as I suffer some sort of catastrophic problem before I finish the rest of the photos).
I did some research and learned that once the fingers pop out, the socket gets stretched. At that point you pretty much need to do something to tighten the joint, otherwise the finger will never be secure again.
One technique which seems to have worked is to put a tiny (tiny!) drop of superglue on a pin or a toothpick, and swirl it around in each of the affected sockets. Let it dry, and then the fingers should fit back in much more securely. So far it seems to be working.
I should note that I once tried to tighten the joints on the fingers of the Master Grade Origin Gundam, but I was much more careless with the glue, and that made it all much worse.
I also discovered that I wasn’t actually flexing all of the joints in the fingers, which explains why it felt like I could never get the fingers to truly wrap around the weapons. Now that I’ve solved that, and combined with the glue, the hands are working much better than they were. I may be able to get through this photo shoot yet.
