A second site update in a matter of months? What’s going on here??!?
I’ve been using Hugo to generate this blog for at least seven years now, which is crazy to think about.
But even crazier, and more embarrassing, is the fact that it took me that long to finally embrace the use of Shortcodes.
I’ve been hand jamming HTML to insert every single image you see on this website. It’s by far the most annoying and painstaking part of writing any given post. But I just replaced that with a nifty shortcode, and with that I was able to take my written draft about Tornado Gundam and insert all the images in well under an hour.
That’s a massive speedup, and I’m going to try hard to spend the rest of my night not thinking of how much time I could have added back to my life if I had embraced this years ago.
Some More Housekeeping
I have a good four-ish builds done and needing photos, including the Zeta Revive. I will get to them in due time. I’ll admit that it took me a while to finish writing about Tornado due to not wanting to futz around with all the images, but now that that’s no longer an issue, maybe I can pick up the pace from here on out.
